The Norman Arts Council is seeking proposals for exhibitions for the MAINSITE Gallery.
Norman Arts Council operates and maintains its offices inside MAINSITE Contemporary Art. It hosts numerous exhibitions, events, workshops, performances, concerts and more throughout the year. It's also available as a venue for event rentals, including meetings, receptions, weddings and more.
MAINSITE Contemporary Art — located at 122 E. Main, Norman — is open 10 am - 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday during exhibition windows. The gallery is closed to the public for changeover and installation between exhibitions.
MAINSITE gladly accepts submissions from artists residing throughout the U.S. and internationally. We acknowledge all submissions that include the required materials. However, we are unable to provide critiques of the work. Please note that submitting your work does not guarantee selection by the gallery.
Please do not mail supporting material or bring actual work to the gallery.
Submission Requirements:
- 5 to 10 images of recent work
- Include the title, date, media, and dimensions of each image of your work submitted
- 1 to 2 paragraph proposal of what your exhibition would entail
- CV and/or short Biography
MAINSITE welcomes proposals from individual artists, groups of artists, or curators wishing to create a show around a specific concept.
DEADLINE to submit is September 30 @ 11:59pm
The Main Gallery space is approx. 3,250 sq ft with 227 ft of hanging space for work. The space includes two movable walls to assist with maximizing the space.
The Gallery typically books exhibitions two years out. We are currently seeking submissions for our 2028 calendar and beyond.
